New and Improved Scheduling Process

We know that scheduling can be a pain sometimes but we have taken all the feedback we received last year and implemented it into a more effective scheduling process. Here are some of the updates we have been working on for this season:

1. Multiple due dates for availability/ leave as well as 3 schedule releases leading to more flexibility for you. In years past we have asked for all availability at the beginning of the season. But we know life happens and sometimes you have no idea what that will look like throughout the holiday season.  So this year we have created 3 due dates for your availability and leave requests as well as 3 dates for schedule releases so you have more flexibility in your schedule throughout the season.
2. Department Managers will be doing all the scheduling. As we have gotten bigger we realized the need for us to get smaller internally. So this year the Department Managers will schedule you rather than the General Manager. This change will enable the Manager to get to know each of their cast members better and schedule them in places they thrive.  
3. Updated scheduling structure that will allow you to trade shifts with your coworkers without manager involvement. Last year we know there were some bumps in our new scheduling software that lead our cast members to contacting a manager every time they wanted to swap or drop a shift. This year that is not the case. You will be able to swap, pick up, and drop shifts right from your computer or app.
4. Department and Small Group Communication Possible this Year. In our new scheduling software last year we had not discovered how we could create smaller groups within the Newsfeed but this year we have. So rather than seeing every post made to everyone even if you didn’t need to know, you will only see posts that pertain to you (i.e. posts from your department manager, kudos for doing something great, etc.)
